My birthday came early this year.
Today is the first time I have observed my birthday outside the eastern United States. So, since I'm living in Singapore my birthday "came early" this year—12 hours earlier than what I've been accustomed.
Additionally, my children, along with our live-in helper, Arlene, woke me up at 6:30 AM (it's still pitch dark in Singapore at that time) with a cake topped with lit candles carried to my bedside and sang to me. So, of course, we had birthday cake for breakfast. Chocolate birthday cake with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, no less. And cherries on top. It is probably the sweetest beginning of any birthday yet.
If I can ever figure out how to edit the very grainy photo Arlene took with my cell phone I'll include it here.
